Frequently asked questions

What Is Your Fee?

My fee for a 50-minute session is currently $275. Payment is due at the time of service and can be made online through most major credit cards. Please note that my fees are periodically updated to meet business needs.

How Long Are Sessions?

Typically, therapy sessions are 50 minutes. If we decide to work together, we’ll select a weekly appointment time that’s reserved for you. I’m committed to making each session meaningful and productive.

Are Office Visits Available?

Yes, in person sessions are offered in Danville, CA. Additionally, teletherapy gives me the flexibility to work with adults throughout California and Hawaii.

Do You Take Insurance?

As an “out of network provider,” I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. My services may be partially or fully covered by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. To better understand your coverage, I encourage you to contact your insurance provider and inquire further prior to starting treatment. Please note that although I work for Kaiser Permanente part time, in my private practice, I am not a contracted provider for Kaiser.

Do You Exclusively Work With Adults?

Yes. At this time, I only work with adults on a individual basis. I do not offer couples or family therapy.

What Are The First Few Sessions Like?

In our initial 1-3 sessions, we'll focus on gathering information and collaborative goal setting. Most importantly, we’ll get to know one another. These first few sessions help me determine if I can be of service to you, and if so, how. I strive to help you receive the best care to achieve your goals, which may or may not be with me. To this end, in some circumstances, I may suggest a referral to another therapist with specific expertise.

How Long Does Therapy Last?

Therapy length depends on your goals and level of engagement in the process. It can be relatively brief, lasting a few months, or extend over several years. Some clients work with me for a period of time, then return as life evolves and new challenges arise.

How Do You Keep My Information Private?

I’m committed to protecting your privacy and follows strict ethical standards to ensure confidentiality. I utilize HIPAA compliant video platform, email, and phone. Please review my practice’s privacy policies here.

What is the No Surprises Act?

Under the federal No Surprises Act, health care providers need to give clients who do not have or utilize insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

What If I Am Unhappy With My Care?

I strive to create a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship. If at any time, you are not satisfied with or have questions about your therapy, please discuss them with me. If we cannot resolve the issue, I am happy to help you find another therapist who may be better a better fit.
